Bertha O. Brumbaugh (nee Bogard) passed away peacefully at Pebble Creek Healthcare Center on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born in Akron to Walter and Mary Olive Bogard.
Bertha attended Kenmore High School. In 1947, she married Dennis V. Brumbaugh, who became her loving partner in life for 56 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and caretaker. Bertha (Bert, Bertie) will be remembered for her good-natured sense of humor, excellent cooking, and devotion to her family. She absolutely loved watching sports--especially her Cleveland Indians.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis V. Brumbaugh and her daughter Beverly Brumbaugh, both in 2003, her son-in-law Alex Dillard in 2021, her brothers Mel, Gerald, Newt and Wesley, and her sisters Margaret Spears, Grace Mullenax and Mary Maddox. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Brumbaugh Dillard of Arnoldsville, GA, and sons Walter Brumbaugh of Highland Lakes, NJ, Rich (Sherri) Brumbaugh of Mogadore, and Brian (Cindy) Brumbaugh of Midlothian, VA. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Angela, Quinn, Lauren, Lindsay and Kyle; her sisters Jean McLaughlin, Ruth Stump and Judy Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Pebble Creek for the loving care they provided.
Services were private for the immediate family and internment took place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.
