Betty L. Billman, 87, formerly of Norton, died Thursday October, 22, 2015 at Barberton Manor Care. She was born in Akron and was the daughter of Scott and Jennie (Tait) Hudson. She lost her father at a  young age during the Great Depression. They moved to many, many places including, Illinois, Indiana,  Ohio and finally Akron. They lived at the O.C. Barber Mansion for a time where her mother was a housekeeper.

She attended many grade schools, sometimes for as little as a few weeks. She worked in war factories [MONCO] as a teen-ager, during WWII then later at the M. O'Neil Co. She was a homemaker before returning to the work  force starting as a cook at the Village Inn. Later, she worked in many different factories in the area such as Fawick- Flexigrip Co.,Eaton Corp. of Copley, Manchester Tool, Wright Tool, General Electric and Venture Lighting in Solon .

She enjoyed Stained glass, quilting, macramé, crocheting, needlepoint, gardening and canning produce.  She loved dogs and cats.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, George Billman;  granddaughter, Laura, she is survived by her sons,  Gary (Janet) Billman of  Belmont, David (Debbie) Billman of Akron; cousins, Linda (John) Glover and Ray (Karen) Tait .

Per her request their will be no services or visitation. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
