Betty J (Hause) Morber, age 87, of Akron, Ohio, passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior, after a brief medical setback, on Thursday, November 30th, 2023.

Betty was born in Akron on August 2nd, 1936 to Lawrence “Hap” Hause and Opal Miller Hause, both of whom preceded her in death.  She graduated from Kenmore High School in 1954 and soon after began work at the Babock & Wilcox Company as a secretary.

It was on an arranged date that she met the love of her life, Frank M Morber of Barberton, Ohio.  They married on September 9th, 1961 and lived happily together as husband and wife for 61-years until Frank preceded her in death on May 22nd, 2022.  With the birth of their first child, Tim, Betty left Babcock & Wilcox and started her career as a proud mom and immaculate housewife and homemaker.  When their daughter, Tina, was born a few years later she completed their family.

Betty was an avid traveler and the family enjoyed summer vacations each year to the east coast beaches, Florida, Texas, and destinations in between.  After becoming empty-nesters, Betty and Frank continued to travel and expanded their horizons to Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe.  After Frank’s retirement in 1994, he and Betty would spend months in Florida escaping Ohio winters until the thaw of spring.

In addition to traveling, Betty enjoyed sewing, crafting, crocheting, and reading, especially her Bible and Christian novels.  Betty was a devout follower of Christ and attended the Kenmore Church of Christ, now Compass Christian Church, her entire life.  She served in multiple capacities at her home congregation including deaconess, Vacation Bible School teacher, substitute pianist and substitute secretary, and as a member of the church’s missions committee.  In this role, she also served alongside Frank as state-side support for Christian missionaries who served in Zambia and Malawi. When the church doors were open, Betty was there as long as her health permitted.

One of Betty’s God-given gifts was her cooking and baking talent - she made beautiful, elaborately decorated birthday cakes to celebrate loved ones.  She served delicious, well-prepared meals, and constantly varied the menu.  She excelled at making deviled eggs, one of her holiday specialties.  Most recently she made one of her favorite dishes, corn pudding, for Thanksgiving despite the limitations of her illness.  Her recipes will be treasured by generations to come. She was also proud to have received recognition from the City of Akron for their neighborhood Beautification Watch Award for her tidy Cape Cod-style home in the Kenmore community.

Betty leaves behind her son, Tim (Kelly) Morber, grandchildren Mary “Kayla,” Hannah, Daniel, and Lily; daughter Tina (Tim) Wilt, grandchildren Teleri and Blaidd; nieces and nephews Vince (Jamie) Morber, Maria (Ron) Weinberg, Dominic (Monika) Morber, Julie (Jason) Goshe, Rick Suliks, Amy (Jose) Garcia, Andy Hause, Alan Hause, Adam Hause, many grandnieces and grandnephews; sister-in-law Gerry Hause, and many cousins. In addition to being preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Betty was also preceded in death by sister Eileen (Hause) Suliks, brother William “Bill” Hause, and niece Debbie (Suliks) Garrett.

The family would like to thank Summa Hospital Hospice, Summa Community Hospice, and Home Helpers Home Care for their excellent attention to and care for Betty during her illness.
