Catherine A. Matthews 'Katy", 77, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, December 29, 2017. Born in Richmond, VA on May 2, 1940 to the late Herbert and Frances (Cartmill) Matthews.
She was young at heart and enjoyed two trips to Disney in her later years. Family was most important to Katy.
Preceded in death by her parents; aunts; brother, Jerome P. Matthews; sister-in-law, Lenore Matthews; she leaves to cherish her memory, sister-in-law, Joyce (Douglas) Matthews Rigel; brother, Ed Matthews; nieces, Anne (Andy) Flowers, Lynn (Don) Cobb, Aimee Jo (Matt) Gober; great nephew, Jason (Ben) Berry; great niece, Kelly Cobb.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron with Pastor Isaac Van-Epps officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers for those that wish, memorial contributions can be made to One of a Kind Pets, 1929 W Market St, Akron, OH 44313.
