Charles R. “Bob” George, age 90, passed away at home on May 24,2020. He was born in Akron on July 31, 1929. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary George and sister, Marilyn Lancaster. He is survived by wife of 53 years, Joan; son, Chris; nephew, Robert Lancaster; sister-in-law, Joyce Propst; and brother-in-law, Jon Warren.

Bob graduated from Kenmore High School with the class of 1948. He worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and retired after 32 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Bank One, retiring again after 10 years. Additionally, he worked at Cook Hardware. He was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church.

Bob loved to travel and especially enjoyed telling stories from a trip to Europe. As a lifelong music lover, he enjoyed community concerts and playing his harmonica and guitar.

He enjoyed the fellowship with his masonic brothers in the lodge now known as New Franklin Masonic Lodge. A prophet in Yusef Khan Grotto, Bob enjoyed singing in the chorus, especially entertaining at nursing homes.

Calling hours will be held at Schlup-Pucak Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 10a-12p. Funeral service will follow, officiated by Pastor Sam Martin. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Firestone Park United Methodist Church. DUE TO COVID-19 WE SUGGEST WEARING MASKS. IF YOU ARE SICK AND NOT FEELING WELL, WE ASK THAT YOU STAY HOME. WE WILL BE MAINTAINING THE SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES. For those that wish, memorial contributions in Bob's name can be made to the church.
