Clifford E Hodge

Clifford Edward  “Ed” Hodge passed away on August 20, 2018, at the age of 84. Ed was born in Arlington,  Massachusetts, on July 3, 1934. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary, whom he adored; his two daughters, Karen and Kristine; and many nieces and nephews. Ed also loved his precious dog, Riley. He will be missed by all who knew him, as he was a true gentleman.

He is preceded in his death by his Father, Clifford, and Mother, Agnes; sisters Phyllis and Kay and his brother, Bob.

Ed was known for his love of all things politics, news and sports, and loved to cheer on his Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox. He read the paper cover to cover each day and was probably the only 84 year old man to master an iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch. Ed loved his books, and his favorite song was “Hey Jude” by the Beatles. He had a razor-sharp wit and

was an incredible storyteller. Simply put, he was one cool customer.

The family would like to thank Dr. George Laikos and his staff for 26 years of amazing care.

A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you may honor him by making a donation to the Humane Society of Akron.
