Debbie (Nist Oakes) Bierlair

Debbie (age 65) passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019.  Debbie is now at peace after enduring declining health for the past three years including frontotemporal dementia, ALS, COPD and diabeties.

She was preceded in death by parents Blair and Deloris Oakes; sister, Suzette Oakes and brother, Bob Oakes.  She is survived by and will be missed by her sister, Patricia Oakes; her sons, Michael Nist, Daniel Bierlair and Bryan Bierlair; grandsons, Austin Nist and Jordan Bierlair; three great grandchildren; friend, Tiffany Nurse and friend (ex-husband) Bob Nist.

A Special Thank You to the nurses and staff at The Merriman who provided care, compassion and friendship to Debbie since December 2016.  Debbie enjoyed their many group outings, playing Bingo and the many residents who became her friends.

Thank You to the Akron Fire Department paramedics; the nurses, doctors and Chaplain at Akron General Cleveland Clinic (ER, ICU and 8 ^th Floor Respiratory staff); Dr. Pillai at Cleveland Clinic Brain Center, and “Cassie” at The ALS Association of Northern Ohio Chapter.

Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
