Dorothy F Duke

Dorothy F. Duke, 97, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, June 13, 2022. She was born February 24, 1925 in Hopkinsville County, KY to the late Hayes and Ruth (nee Carlise) DeMoss.
Her family moved to Sharon Center, Ohio where she lived for many years and met the love of her life Willie "Bill" Duke. They were married on August 4, 1941 in Cumberland, Maryland and celebrated sixty- one years together until Bill's passing. Together they raised three children and Dorothy lived in the same house for over seventy years.
She was a member of Compass Christian Church (formerly Kenmore Church of Christ) where she was the past superintendent of the primary department. She loved her family, friends, playing cards (especially Euchre) and listening to Daniel O'Donnell music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband; son, James and daughter, Nancy Butcher. She is survived by her son, William (Margaret) Duke; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Graves officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
