Earvin Carl Leslie of Akron, 77, passed away on September 25, 2015 at the Akron General Hospice Care Center.
Earvin (Carl) was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Beecher and Connie Mae Leslie. He had a sense of adventure, living in various states and performing a wide range of jobs, including a chauffeur and security guard. He was a humble man, sharing with the less fortunate and helping others, especially his family. He enjoyed being secretive and sharing mysteries.
Rather than television, his hobby was radios, including a 2-way, shortwave, and police scanner. One of his favorite radio shows was Coast to Coast. For many years and until recently, he took pleasure in riding his bike or walking around the neighborhood and shopping centers to visit people. He liked playing with the family dog, Bootsie.
In his younger days, he loved fishing, camping and hiking, but most of all he loved his nieces and nephews. He was best at telling them jokes and laughing at theirs.
Earvin is preceded in death by his father and mother, Beecher and Connie Mae; his brothers, Junior, Terry, and Paul Russel; his sisters, Joanne Hodge and Janet Kamer; and several nieces and nephews.
Earvin is survived by his brother, Earl Leslie of Portsmouth, several aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
