Esther Gardner, born in Akron, Ohio, on October 20, 1932, surrendered to her battle with dementia on July 24, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Gardner; brothers, William Gardner and Richard Gardner. She is survived by her brother, Charles Gardner and sisters, Jane Drexler and Carolyn Cioffi. She was dearly loved by her nineteen nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Esther was a graduate of St. Vincent High School. She worked all of her adult life for Ohio Bell/AT&T. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she enjoyed playing bingo and quilting. Most of all she loved spending time with family. She loved Sunday dinners with her family and was lovingly referred to as the “donut lady” by her nieces and nephews. She touched the lives of many people with her kindness.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 am Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2101 seventeenth St SW, Akron with Fr. Sam Ciccolini officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
