Frances Gathergood

Frances Gathergood, 82, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, February 22, 2017. A life resident of the area and a 1952 graduate of Kenmore High School, Frances retired from Uniroyal-B.F.Goodrich after 35 years service. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she was a custodian for six years.

Bowling was something Frances enjoyed doing since 1951 and was a charter member of the Six and Seven Hundred Club. She was also inducted into the Amateur Woman's Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed Bocce ball at the Italian Center and once played softball for the Akron Jets. She was also a huge animal lover.

Preceded in death by her parents, Beryle and Mary Toth; she is survived by her sister, Elnor Johns; nieces, Frances Nalley and Barbara Evans; nephews, Connie "Mac" Jr., Jack and Tim Johns; many great and great great nieces and nephews; dear friend, Margaret Campbell.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron with Rev. Robert W. Tauscher Jr. officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to service time. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
