Franklin (Frankie) N. Gurchie, 56, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly at Akron General on February 8, 2019. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late John and Mary Ann (Koval) Gurchie. He was a graduate of Kenmore High School.

Frankie's first job was at the age of 16 with W.G Lockhart and has worked construction for the past thirty years. He took pride in his work and went on to be a proud member of the Ohio Laborers and the Operating Engineers Local #18. He played little league baseball and pee wee football for Kenmore Youth Sports.

Preceded in death by his parents; grandmother's, Julia Koval and Mildred Fulerton; half sister, Vicki Gurchie; he is survived by his son, Nathan Dunn; sister, Kim (Jud) Sprandel; brother, John Gurchie (J.P.); sister, Becky (Kevin) Myers; nephew, Jimmy Gurchie; niece, Jennifer Sprandel; nephew, Juddy Sprandel; great nephew, Jamison Gurchie; lifetime family friend, Edward Sokoley (Uncle Eddie); dear friend, Cindy Galloway; five cousins; Scott and Sherry Carson.

Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron, where a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
