"Together Again"

Garry Dean Moss, 72, born August 2, 1942, left this earthly world to reunite with his twin, Larry Gene, on May 3, 2015.

Garry was preceded in death by parents, Newton and Bertha; siblings, Helen, Harold, Jolene, Jack, Doris and Larry; and his best friend, Ron Deger. He is survived by siblings, Mary, Lillian (Bill) and James (Betty). He is also survived by his children, Donnie (Veronica), Pam (Wylie) and Cindie (Steve); grandchildren, Brittany (Rick), Ashley, Phillip, Brent, Gabby, Cameron, Alex, Christian and Carter; great-grandson, Noah, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends, including very special friend, Roberta "Bones".

Garry graduated from Kenmore High School in 1960 where he was quoted as saying his ambition in life was "to bowl a 300 game and get rich quick". He served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. Garry graduated from the police academy and joined the Akron Police Department in 1967. While at the Police Department he helped form the Sex Crimes Unit and worked many years as a rape detective, retiring in 1991.

Garry had a passion for bowling, where he was nicknamed "Moose" and achieved that 300 point game! He was involved with the F.O.P Lodge #7 where he and fellow officers built the first clubhouse and pavilion. He participated in the Police Olympics, winning numerous medals. He loved to gamble and was one heck of a lucky son-of-a-gun, winning at the lottery, craps, Let it Ride, poker, and the Queen of Hearts. He also loved to teach the art of gambling in recent years teaching Bones and Cindie how to play and win at craps.

He was an active member of the VFW Post #3383 where he was belovedly known as "Unc". Garry was quite a character and loved by all who met him. He could tell a story like none other. His beautiful blue eyes would melt your heart while being taken in by his infectious smile. At his request there will be no services. Interment with private graveside dedication, with family, will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Garry's life will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at V.F.W Post #3383. I will miss my daddy everyday of my life. I hope you get to have fun and spend lots of time with Uncle Larry. I love you to the moon and stars and back again! Love from your Poohbear.
