Gene W Smith

Gene W. Smith 76 yrs. of Akron, went home to be with the Lord August 28, 2015.
A life resident of the area, and a veteran of the US Air Force Gene retired from Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #219, after 50yrs. service. Gene was Asst. Scoutmaster for Troop 204 for many years and volunteered for many years with the Kenmore Community Council.
Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Edna Mae Henry Lute, He is survived by beloved wife, JoAnn, son Duane, daughter Sheryl (Thomas) Dudley, grandchildren Lauren, Alan Smith, Amber, Patrick Dudley. Step mother Marge Smith, brothers Larry (Ruth) and Kenny (Kim) Smith Danny and David Hawthorne and sister Janet Hawthorne. Daughter- in- law Beth Smith and brother-in-law Angus (Ruth) Stewart and many other relatives and loving friends.
Friends may call Wednesday 5-8PM at the Schlup-Pucak Funeral Chapel, 788 Kenmore Blvd. where funeral services will be 11AM, Thursday, September 3,2015. Rev Linda Somerville officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
