Gerald L Lawrentz

Gerald L. Lawrentz, 74, of Tallmadge, went home to be with the Lord, December 26, 2013. Gerald was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He was a self employed carpenter. He loved to build and fix various things, loved watching "Shoot 'em up bang-bangs " on tv, was a die-hard Marine and loved playing with his grandchildren.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and Ruth Morrison Lawrentz. He is survived by his loving wife; Florence, children; Gary (Stacie) Ashworth of Hartville, Sondra (Robert) Buchner of Cuyahoga Falls, David (Sue) Ashworth of Alliance, Robert Ashworth of Cuyahoga Falls and Gerald (Tracy) Lawrentz of N. Canton. He will also be missed by eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild that is  "on the way", sister; Sussie (Tommy) Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 6, 2014 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, where full military honors will take place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to "Toys for Tots" by going to toysfortots.org.
