Gregory M. Wood, 64, of Uniontown went home to be with the Lord, February 27, 2016.
Greg was the Founder/Owner of the North East Ohio School of Golf, a Master Teaching Professional, President of the American Schools of Golf, co-founder of Suture-Tecs program at Akron Children's Hospital, a non-commission officer in charge of emergency services at the Naval Hospital in Patuxent River, Maryland. He also worked in nursing.
Greg was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he was a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam Era. He was a part of the First Little League team to win a State Little League Championship. He was a graduate of Norton High School class of 1969, where he played football, basketball and ran track.
Preceded in death by his father, Arthur R. Wood; he is survived by his mother, Melba Childers; children, Joshua (Sara) Wood, Jarod Wood, Daniel (Crystal) Williams and Michael Biggins Wood; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Matthew, Maverick, Michael and Isaiah; siblings, Guy Wood, Deborah Greathouse, Marydon Loosemore and Douglas Prather; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Rittman, Ohio 44270.
