Hobert L. Hicks, 71 passed away November 2, 2023 holding the hands of loved ones after a short illness. He was born May 16, 1952 in Gadsden, Alabama. Six years later they headed north and planted their roots in Doylestown, Ohio. Where they continue to grow. He resided in Akron, Ohio with his wife.
Hobert’s life joys were spending time in nature, with his dogs, riding his Harley Davison, and laughing with others. He loved to meet people and his zest for life gave him an attractive energy people fell in love with. Especially his wife Janet Hicks whom he loved for many decades and till his dying day.
He was an avid sportsman and lifetime member of the NRA. He loved the outdoors, Lake Erie was one of his favorite places, and was happiest fishing and hunting.
He was proficient with his hands and spent 18 years as a forge operator at Wright Tool & Forge. He built homes, did carpentry, and loved to create gifts. Including a beautiful chest for his daughter and a shelf for every granddaughter.
He will be missed by many and his smile will never be forgotten. To know Hobert was to love him. May the four winds blow you safely home. Back to your parents Charles and Grace Hicks, arms. Reunite with your son Hobart Michael and your brother Charles.
