The Angels of the Lord came to escort Ida to a well-deserved rest on April 13, 2025.

Ida was proceeded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Michelina; her brother, Romeo, her brother, Luigi, her brother, Carlo, and her sister-in-law, Gemma. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ambrosio Ranaldi and her second husband, Riccardo Rea.

Ida faced many hardships in life, and she endured them all. She was born in the countryside outside of Arpino, Italy. There she endured growing up in poverty and the German occupation of World War II. After twenty years of marriage to her first husband Ambrosio, she was widowed. After twenty-five years of marriage to her second husband Riccardo, she was widowed again. When her children were small she was hit by a car while crossing a street. Later in life she experienced many health issues including cancer, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a stroke, and wet macular degeneration.

Ida was a hard worker all her life. She and her first husband owned and operated Sabatini’s Pizza. After her first husband passed, Ida became a cafeteria worker at Innes Junior High School and later at Kenmore High School.

Ida was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Seniorcise, and the Kenmore Seniors. In her retirement years she enjoyed volunteering for her church at the weekly bingo games and at the funeral lunches. She also enjoyed keeping her home immaculate, cooking, growing vegetables, tending to the many flowers that surrounded her house and receiving weekly phone calls from her niece Bianca and her sister-in-law Gemma.

Ida’s family would like to express their gratitude to all who showed her a bit of kindness in the last few years of her life.
