JAMES D. McCARTY James D. McCarty, 88, of Akron passed away March 27, 2014. An area resident all of his life, James retired from Diamond Crystal Salt as a welder and pipefitter after 24 years service, following this he spent ten years taking care of wells.

James was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in WWII. He graduated from Kenmore High School, was a member of the Allenside Club, an amateur magician, and loved playing pool and bowling. He especially enjoyed fishing where he was known as "the greatest fisherman the world has ever known" and was extremely well-liked by many people.

Preceded in death by his parents; John and Wilma (Starkey) McCarty, beloved wife; Rita (whom he was married to for 57 years), brother; Bruce, sister; Phyllis Taylor and son-in-law; Robert Seeman, he leaves behind his daughter; Suzanne Seeman, grandsons; Mark and Scott (Alyssa) Seeman, great grandchildren; Riley, Jenna, Sean and Clara.

Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron, where Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. with Chaplain David Bessing officiating.
