Joseph J Prekop
January 13, 1921 — March 21, 2014
Joseph. J. Prekop, 93, of Akron went home to be with the Lord March 21, 2014. Born in Pittsburgh, PA Joe spent the majority of his life in the Akron area. He was honorably discharged from the Army where he served with the 902nd Ordinance Division. He retired from B.F. Goodrich with 42 years service as a tire builder. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Elizabeth (Havrilla) Prekop, beloved wife; Betty Jane, daughter; Kimberly A. Skidmore, he is survived by his son; Joseph Jr.(Helen), daughters; Linda M. (Larry) Duca, Rebecca L. (Tom) Shilinski, sister; Tillie Nieztgoda, son-in-law Ed Skidmore and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2603 Benton St. Akron, Ohio 44312. Friends may call two hours prior to service where Fr. Mike Williamson will be officiating. Burial to follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
