Kathrine D Boyett-Smoak
January 19, 1970 — March 15, 2015
Kathrine D. Boyett-Smoak born January 19, 1970, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Katie was born and raised in the Kenmore area and resided in Orangeburg SC. She graduated from The University of Akron with her Associates degree and obtained her Bachelor's degree from Claflin University. Katie was a former Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and was employed by Zeus Industrial Products.
Katie had a beautiful, infectious smile and a personality to match. She truly never met a stranger. She was loved by all who knew her and was an inspiration to many. Katie is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Kathy Boyett.
She is survived by her husband Gregory D. Smoak, her sons Nicholas and Lonnie, grandchildren: Angelaa, Kaden, and Sadie Marie all of Orangeburg SC, her two sisters, Audrey (Jeff) Sullinger and Jennifer (John) Coffee, niece and nephews: Sydney and Seth Sullinger, Joe and Alex Coffee, and also by many "sisters of heart" and "special nieces and nephews."
The family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life Party" on March 28, 2015 at the FOP Lodge 2610 Ley Dr, Akron OH 44319 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
