Kenneth L. Williams (Ken/Kenny), age 82, died unexpectedly on July 22, 2023. His family is deeply saddened by his death.
Ken was born in Akron Ohio on May 1st, 1941, and lived his entire life in the greater Akron area. He graduated from Kenmore High School and went to The University of Akron, where he quickly transitioned to the Roadway Trucking Company print shop. Ken was a veteran of The Army National Guard. He retired from the printing industry in 2002 and went on to a 2nd career working at ADESA Auto Auction driving all types of new fancy cars, which he loved. His passion for trains followed him his whole life. He belonged to both the Buckeye State Garden Railroaders and Northern Ohio Garden Railroad Train Society Club for several years and forged many lifelong friendships as a result.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Frances Williams and son, Shawn Avery. Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Garnett; daughters, Lori (Barry) Burnett and Nicole (Mark) Dooley, along with his grandsons, Glenn (Sydney) Wallace, Daniel Wallace, great grandson Jonathan Wallace and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to all the good Samaritans at the Cambridge rest area on I-77. We also thank the Ohio State Troopers from the Cambridge branch that assisted our family.
The family will receive visitors and friends from 3pm until 4pm, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd., Akron, Ohio 44314. At 4pm the family invites you to stay for a Veterans Memorial Service in honor of Ken, followed by a Memorial Service with Pastor David Ballert officiating.
