Larry L Lambes

"That dumb son-of-a-____," was the favorite way to start a story for Larry L. Lambes of New Franklin. This opening was used universally for fact or fiction, friend or foe. Larry would have used that very phrase to preface the story of his own death. After taking on cancer, pneumonia, emphysema. blood clots, aggressive treatments and physical therapy, while simultaneously keeping up the spirits of both those that loved him and the excellent caregivers attending to him, Larry died on April 20, 2015. He is survived by his wife (so nice he married her twice) Janis Lambes, canine child Jasper, beloved sisters, Glenna (Vaught) Stanley and Bonnie Montgomery; sons, Kenny (Robin) Lambes, Kevin (Aimee) Lambes, Keith (Kathy) Lambes; daughters, Kim (Lonnie) Nestor and Kat (Jim) Mickunas; step-children, Gary (Joan) Alexander and Denise (Jim) Absalom. He also leaves behind piles of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved equally, rendering the thought of naming a favorite moot. A retired Lieutenant of the Akron Police Department (making his initials L.L.L.L.) and former Maytag repairman, he long suffered with aplomb requests for legal advice, bail, and appliance recommendations. to Larry, life was all about making the day easier for someone else. In order to avoid a haunting, the family is honoring is often-stated wishes that there be no calling hours and no funeral services, but rather a "Celebration of Life". This will take place on May 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at F.O.P Lodge #7 in Akron. Larry asked many times that everyone come, drink a beer, and tell a story or six.
