Lloyd G. Cain, (94) passed away on December 31, 2014 in Akron, OH. Lloyd was born in Brundidge, AL to Fred and Florence Cain on October 14, 1920.

Lloyd served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, received an honorable discharge, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He helped build area metro park shelters while with the WPA and continued to enjoy carpentry, woodworking and early American antiques throughout his life. An avid reader, with many interests and a keen sense of humor, always made for good conversation.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, T. Fred and Florence Cain, brother, Butler Cain, sister, Emma Catherine Cain, his previous wife and mother of his children, Rosina Cain. He is survived by his wife Louise (Lemley) Cain, his daughter Susan (Brian) Goodell, his sons, L. Douglas (Nancy) Cain, David Cain, Jeffrey (Judy) Cain and Stephen (Patti) Cain; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Arthur (Susan) Lemley, Carol (Jim) Pontius, David (Sue) Lemley, and Patty Fish; eight step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to Ashley, and to those who assisted and provided care for him in his time of need.

Memorial services will be performed at Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. Friday, January 23, 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Haven of Rest, 175 East Market St. Akron, OH 44308 or a charity of your choice.
