Mary H Mcmurray

Mary (Merry) H. McMurray (nee Akers), born February 14, 1926 in Inglesmuth, PA, died on March 3, 2021 at the age of 95.  Preceded in death by her parents, John N. and Lena Mae (Lawhead) Akers and husband of 65 years, Francis L. McMurray in 2009.  She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Leslie M. (Phillip) Torson; sons, Kenneth D. (Patty) McMurray, Mark S. (Sharon) McMurray and Daniel F. (Jackie) McMurray as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary worked as a teller at the Firestone Bank in Akron Ohio and as a Rosie the Riveter supporting the war effort during World War II. In addition, she was a homemaker and an anchor for her family throughout her life. Despite her big heart, she was a merciless card player, taking no prisoners.  She also enjoyed singing, baking and cooking. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Organization, Akron Congregation.  Cremation and services have taken place.
