BARBERTON – Maxine C Garden, 98, born September 9, 1916, died peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2015.

She was a resident of Kenmore her entire life and a member of Goss Memorial Church in Akron, Ohio. She later resided at Pleasant Pointe in Barberton, Ohio where she had good care and loving friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Garden; also preceded by her father and mother; Cecil and Icie Crawford; her sister, Irene Maxey; her brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Lenora Crawford; and her brother, Paul Crawford and his surviving wife, June. She will be greatly missed by her children, Sandra (Bill) Bradcovich; Thomas (Linda) Garden; and Donald (Jean) Garden; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and other relatives and friends.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, participating in euchre games, baking, sewing and camping. In her elder years, the Kenmore Senior Community Center filled her days with friends, exercise and day trips.

The family would like to thank the Summa Barberton Palliative Care Unit for their loving care of Maxine.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Boulevard, Akron, where funeral services will be held following calling hours, with Pastor Steven Bradcovich officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Summa Foundation, Acute Palliative Unit, 155 Fifth Street, N.E., Barberton, Ohio 44203.
