Nancy R. Long, 81, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, November 1, 2022. She was born on September 10, 1941 in Fairmont, WV to the late Henry Helm and Violet Huber.
She was a long-time resident of Akron and a graduate of Kenmore High School class of 1960. There, she met her High School Sweetheart and love of her life, James Long and they were married for sixty-one years.
Nancy enjoyed painting, playing bingo and flower gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Helm. She is survived by her loving husband, James H.; sons, James B. (Denise) and Fred B. (Cathy); daughter, Sharon K. (Jeff) Lambert; sister, Judy (Randy) Gipson and sister-in-law, Gloria Helm; ten grandchildren, Megan, Nick, Kyra, Jeff, Shannon, Brian, Mathew, Michael, Madelynn and Brianna; two great grandchildren, Lyndon and Mari and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Partridge officiating. Burial to follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
