Richard A Shanholtz

Richard A. Shanholtz, 89, of Barberton, went home to be with the Lord, March 19, 2025. He celebrated his 90th birthday in heaven with his family.

A life resident of the Akron/Barberton area, Richard retired from First Energy in 1994 with thirty eight years of service. He also worked part-time for Reeves Electric Services until 2010 and was a member of the New Franklin Masonic Lodge #803.

Richard was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved nothing more than a good game of Euchre and eating out with family and friends. His ornery smile and sense of humor will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents Marshal and Eva Shanholtz; wife Louise “Toots” Shanholtz; son, Jeff Shanholtz; daughter, Jean Shanholtz; brother, Edward Shanholtz; survived by grandchildren, Whitney and Ashley Shanholtz; great-grandchildren, Carter, William, Fallon and Freddie.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd., Akron. A Masonic service will be held 6:30 p.m. by Masonic Lodge #803. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Lisa Arledge officiating. Private inurnment to follow.
