Robert Louis Vigar

Robert Louis Vigar, 88, passed away on Jan. 16, 2015. He was born on Jan. 6, 1927 in Denver, CO to Ruth and George Vigar.
He was preceded in death by sisters Bernice Vigar, Doris Gray, Geraldine Ingersoll, Francis Hague, and brother George Vigar. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Wanda B. Vigar (nee Gainer), son Robert L. Vigar II, daughters Sherrill L. Priest and Tamara L. Watson (Rick), grandchildren Robert M. Priest (Beth), Susan D. Niccum (William) and Robert L. Vigar III (Denise), great grandchildren Logan, Ashley and Maxwell Niccum, Rylinn Priest, and Keegan and Kellan Vigar, sister Roberta Peterson of High Springs, FL, sister-in-law Ceinwen Vigar of Stow, and many nieces and nephews.
After serving in the U S Navy, Bob retired from Firestone after 40years service. He was a devoted family man, a faithful volunteer, an avid golfer, and a world traveler.
Friends may call at Firestone Park Presbyterian Church, 275 South Firestone Boulevard, Akron on Saturday, January 24th from 12 to 2, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm, with The Rev Susan Curtis officiating. Inurnment and military honors will take place at Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
