Thomas A Batten

Thomas A. Batten, 63, of Firestone Park went home to be with the Lord, December 22, 2016. A life resident of the area, Tom graduated from Firestone High School in 1972.

After graduation and attending the University of Akron, Tom started his career with Taco Bell and retired as Regional Facilities Director. He then started his second career as Director of Operations for Sapphire Constructions.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Donna Batten. In 1977 he married the love of his life and best friend, Renee who survives him. He was a wonderful father to Melissa, Michelle, Daniel (Michelle) and Christopher. A dear grandfather to Gavin, Kelly, Charlie and Molly and great brother to Jon Batten. Tom was a tireless volunteer at the Firestone Tournament holding many positions culminating as Tournament Chairman in 2012. He wore his ring proudly.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating.
